Why call Crimestoppers?
Are you worried about what might happen to you if you talk to the police? Maybe you've seen or heard something about a crime but don't know what to do. Are you scared to come forward and be a witness? If you feel like this, it's easy to think there is nothing you can do.
Would you say something if no-one knew it was you? Then Crimestoppers is here for you. Our charity provides a unique service to help you. Tell us what you know, not who you are. We record no personal details about you. We simply pass on the information you have about crime whilst protecting your identity.
What we mean by anonymous
Anonymous means that your name is not known or made public. We will never ask for your name.Your call will not be recorded.Your call or online form will not be traced. You will not have to make a statement to the police. You will not appear in court. Crimestoppers' guarantee of anonymity has never been broken
We know that our guarantee to never ask for your name or record your call is vitally important to you. It makes it easier for you to come forward, breaking the silence around criminal activity and removing your fear.
Why Crimestoppers is Important
Your information makes a difference. It can help solve existing investigations or bring to light unknown criminal activity. Every day, calls to Crimestoppers help arrest and charge 19 people. Remember, if the identity of one of our callers became known, it would destroy Crimestoppers because no one would feel they could trust us. This is why it is so important to us that we can guarantee your anonymity. It's as simple and as secure as that.
Remember: Crimestoppers is not an emergency service and if you see a crime taking place you should ring 999 to report it immediately. If you are a victim of crime you should report this to your local police - the phone number will be in the phone book, or go to your local police station.
