Youth Action

Within the Safer York Partnership, we have a number of individuals and delivery structures aimed at Youth issues. The overall aim of these is to reduce and prevent people from offending and to liaise with statutory agencies to ensure the proper support and services are provided for this to happen. Our performance targets are surrounding preventing First-time entrants in to the Youth Justice System and therefore we work with the following key partners:

  • Youth Offending Team
  • Schools
  • Local Education Authority
  • Youth Services

Below is a quick description of how we work:

Early Intervention
Intervening early gives us the opportunity to provide support and services to vulnerable families as quickly as possible so as to try and prevent problems arising at a later stage.

CAF - Common Assessment Framework
CAF is a key part of delivering frontline services that are integrated, and are focused around the needs of children and young people. It is a standard approach to conducting assessments of children's additional needs and deciding how to meet these. It can be used by practitioners across England.
