What is Anti-Social Behaviour
Anti-social behaviour is any aggressive, intimidating or destructive activity that damages or destroys another person's quality of life. If individuals in your area are behaving in a way that causes alarm or distress to you or your neigbours, this would be considered to be anti-social.
Anti-social behaviour can be virtually any intimidating or threatening activity that scares you or damages your quality of life.
Examples of anti-social behaviour include:
- rowdy, noisy behaviour
- 'yobbish' behaviour
- vandalism, graffiti and fly-posting
- dealing or buying drugs on the street
- fly-tipping rubbish
- aggressive begging
- street drinking
- setting off fireworks late at night
Anti-social behaviour doesn't just make life unpleasant, it can hold back the development of a happy society for people to live in and creates an environment where more violent crime can take hold. It has a negative effect on many people's lives, and all partners in York are committed to tackling it.
