Safer York Partnership Board

Role & Functions

The Partnership Board is responsible for the effective development and delivery of the Community Safety Plan through:

  • Programme ownership/management
  • Project champions/drivers
  • Planning and review
  • Performance management
  • Resource management

The Partnership Board establishes the strategic framework within which the partnership operates, including the Local Strategic Partnership.

Decisions are made by simple majority vote, in the case of equal votes the Chair is entitled to a casting vote.

The Board receives quarterly accounts of the Partnership and is responsible for holding the Executive and the Tactical Delivery Groups to account for their management of the funds of the Partnership.

Membership is comprised of senior representatives from each of the responsible authorities and key co-operating bodies:

  • North Yorkshire Police
  • North Yorkshire Police Authority
  • North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue
  • York and North Yorkshire Primary Care Trust
  • City of York Council
  • North Yorkshire Probation
  • Government Office Yorkshire & Humber
